Our Youth and Family Ministry is committed to building relationships with students and parents, to bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ, and help them grow in the christian faith.
Middle School & High School Education
Confirmation class, Sunday School, fun fellowship events, retreats, musicals, mission trips, camp, service opportunities and fundraising are some of the many areas in which middle school and high school your can be involved.
Students in grades 6-8 are invited to join us every Wednesday night for Confirmation class. We learn about our faith through learning bible stories and what they mean for our lives today. Students are confirmed in the fall of 9th grade. The first Wednesday of each month we do a joint Wildfire Event with the other Wildfire Churches’ confirmation groups.
These trips are taken each summer. For the summer of 2017, we will be joining others from House of Hope to travel to Germany for the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation celebration! Those entering 9th grade through those graduating 12th are encouraged to join us! Getting outside of our comfort zone, we look forward to gathering with other Lutherans from around the world to share in our mission! Email Pastor Gretchen to learn more about participating: email@example.com
Summer camp is a great way to have fun in the summer, get to know other kids in the church, and learn more about your faith! We will be taking 6th-12th graders to Camp Wapo the week of August 6th. The theme this year is “Fearless”! High schoolers will be involved in the TIM team program as counselors in training! Please contact Pastor Gretchen for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
or visit the Camp Wapo website at campwapo.org
Opportunities include serving at the Lutefisk dinner, a spring plant sale, selling Christmas poinsettias, and others. Monies earned are held in a youth account and can be used to off-set the cost of any event with a fee involved. Scholarships are also available as needed.
These range from of-site service to serving our community at House of Hope. Bulletins and newsletters are the best way to find out how you can help.
Helpers needed for Advent Suppers- all Wednesdays in December!
